Congratulations on being admitted into a German University!
It will take a minimum of 40 days to get a German Visa. Visa dates are easily available, but to be safe, you should start the Visa process as soon as possible.
Here is a Step-wise account of the process for your convenience:
#1 Blocked Account Opening
As part of your student visa application, you are required to provide the proof of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses in Germany. You can open a blocked account at Deutsche Bank in India or Germany or at a branch of Kotak Mahindra Bank in India.
Option 1: The German Visa process needs a Blocked account to be opened in Deutsche Bank and Euros 8,640 to be remitted to that account. For those of you in Bangalore, visit Deutsche Bank at Raheja Towers, 26-27, M. G. Road, Bangalore 560 001. For those of you living in other cities, a simple Google search will help you locate a branch of Deutsche Bank in your city.
Option 2: You can open the account directly with Deutsche bank by downloading the application form and getting the application attested by the German Consulate and send it to the address mentioned in the application. To attest the document at the Consulate, you need to make an appointment with the Consulate.
Option 3: You can contact any branch of Kotak Mahindra in India and ask them to open a blocked account for your student visa. You will have to present proof of opening such an account at the time of applying for your visa. After having arrived in Germany, you can request Kotak Mahindra Bank to transfer the full deposited amount into a blocked account at any local bank in Germany. Please submit the e-mail confirmation regarding the activation of your blocked account and the transferred amount of at least 8,640 Euros at your visa interview.

Hi,
I had my interview on 28 sep 2017. After follow up 4 days back I got a reply form Mumbai Embassy that “The visa application process involves participation with various German authorities. Feedback of the German domestic authorities is still pending. You will be informed as soon as a final decision comes comes through.”
What is meaning of this.
this means you want for a few days before following up with them
Hi…my interview was on 14 th August i emailed them about my blocked account opening on 7 th of september.but till now(5th Oct ) I haven’t recieved my visa .what is the problem?
Looks like you have submitted your application without blocked account. Most likely they have not considered your application only.
