Admissions are offered to deserving foreign students, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs,) Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) on self financing basis in Under Graduate/Post Graduate/Doctoral Programs etc, in select Indian Institutions associated with EdCIL (India) Limited in the disciplines of English Language, Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Dentistry, Management, Science, Arts, Commerce, Agriculture, Teachers Training, Para-Medical, Nursing, Hotel Management etc.

Is there any scholarship available?
Yes. Government of India offers 150 scholarships to Indian Diaspora (NRI, PIO and others) from 66 countries for undergraduate studies in Professional and Non-professional Courses. Scholarship amount up to the extent of 75% of css of studying, including tuition fee, hostel fees, other charges. Scholarship is continued till the completion of the course. Why higher education in India is a great choice?
India is one of the largest higher education systems in the world in terms of the number of institutions and the second largest system in terms of the number of students. The country offers three main types of tertiary institution in India: Universities and University-level Institutions, Colleges, and Diploma-awarding Institutions.
These are categorized by funding source: Central Government, State Government and Private Players. The system boasts of around 37000 colleges and more than 600 universities which comprises of Central Universities, State Universities, State Private universities, Deemed to be Universities and Institutions of National Importance (IITs, IIMs, NITs and IISERs are four Institutions established under various State legislations).
First 200 of the Fortune 500 companies regularly participate in campus placements in various institutions in India, particularly IITs and IIMs. Many Indian Educational institutions including IITs, IIMs, IISc, NITs, and AIIMS are internationally known for high standards of research and teaching. The quality parameters in the institutions are monitored by UGC, AICTE, NAAC, MCI, DCI, NCI etc.
Are programs offered by Indian institutions recognized?
Yes, the Universities/Institutions offering Professional and Technical courses in India need recognition by the national and statutory bodies established for the maintenance of quality standards in higher education system. Indian Degrees are recognized worldwide through these respective recognizing bodies.
What conditions do I have to meet if I want to study in India?
For admissions in undergraduate programs, you must have passed Senior Secondary / GCE ‘A’ level/ any of the examinations equivalent to 12 years of Schooling in India with sufficient knowledge of English.
For admissions in post graduation programs you must have passed graduation with minimum of 50% in concerned discipline. One of the subjects should be English.
For admission in doctoral courses you must have passed post graduation in relevant subject.
When does Indian academic year start?
The Academic Year in India usually starts in the month of July. However, in some of the Institutions, the Academic year begins in the month of August also.
I have no clue about India. How do I find the right institute?
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has designated EdCIL (India) Limited, as a nodal agency for the placement of International Students in Indian Institutions for Higher Education. EdCIL (India) Limited has tie-ups with a large number of Universities/Institutions spread across India, which offer wide spectrum of Courses in various disciplines.
